 Training and Development could be considered as one of the most important HRM functions which would be focused on educating the employees to enhance their performance and also develop their skills and competencies (Workhuman, 2022).  it is highly essential for both the employee and the employer or the organization, as T &D provides number of benefits for the growth of the organization and the enhanced employee retention. Training and development provide employees with the opportunities for career development, motivation, necessary knowledge to stay updated with industrial changes and trends, improved retention, and promotions within the organization (Simplilearn, 2020). Furthermore, Training and development are expected to improve productivity, service quality, reduce turnover, reduce cost of quality, and stay updated with the trends (Kapadia, 2021).

Generally,  Development focus more on wider range of skills, such as leadership, communication, and decision making. On the other hand, employee training has more clear and measurable goals that would be related to improving the productivity and precision of the current processes in the organization (Simplilearn, 2020).

HR has a key role to play in training and development, including conducting training needs assessments, designing, and developing training programs, implementing, and delivering training, evaluating program effectiveness, and creating career path development opportunities for employees (Workhuman, 2022).  By investing in training and development, HRM helps organizations develop a skilled and competent workforce, contributing to sustained success and employee retention (Workhuman, 2022).

For organizations, training and development lead to increased employee performance, a stronger workforce, alignment with organizational goals, boosted motivation and engagement, expanded capabilities, improved employee retention, and innovation (Panel®, n.d.). By investing in employee training and development, organizations could build a learning culture that benefits the entire organization, leading to increased efficiency, productivity, and ultimately business growth (Panel®, n.d.). Additionally, training and development could help organizations attract high-calibre talent, maintain required skill and knowledge, gain a competitive edge, and also fill up the internal promotion positions, making it more cost-effective solution for talent acquisition and retention(Panel®, n.d.).

Hence, training and development would be highly crucial for both employees and organizations and by investing in T& D, organizations could be able to build more skilled and competent workforce, leading to improved performance, productivity, and innovation in the organization.
